Chitty Chitty Bang Bang musical

London Palladium

After an extremely successful run at the London Palladium, the Chitty Chitty Bang Bang musical is now nearly at the end of a national tour round the UK. As well as a most impressive flying car, the stage set also features the windmill home of Caractacus Potts, Jeremy and Jemima.

The original stage production starred Michael Ball as the eccentric Caractacus Potts, Emma Williams as Truly Scrumptious and Brian Blessed as the Baron. It broke all box office records at the London Palladium and was the longest running show there, beating such all time favourites as Oliver! and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat. During its three and a half year run the musical brought in over £70 million in box office revenue. The Chitty Chitty Bang Bang car is on record as being the most expensive prop in history!!

In the current tour you can see Gary Wilmot / Craig McLachlan as Caractacus Potts and Marissa Dunlop as Truly Scrumptious. Alvin Stardust also makes an appearance as the terrifying child catcher!!

The National tour has received rave reviews and here are just a few of them:

"BREATHTAKING. It’s a big, joyful, enchanting show."
John Peter, Sunday Times
